Accurics + Tenable: Building the Future of Cloud Security

This is a new beginning...

Today, I am pleased to announce that we plan to join forces with Tenable and have entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired.

The last two founding years have been an incredible journey for Accurics, full of ups and downs and nothing short of a roller coaster ride in a historical pandemic year. None of this would have been possible without our amazing team and our customers who have believed in our mission.

This is a historic day and every employee should take pride in your hard work and dedication to our customers, which have enabled us to achieve this goal.

Accurics was built on the idea that by embedding security into the code that is governing the cloud infrastructure, we’d be ensuring that customer clouds would only be deployed securely. We believed that all runtime-focused cloud security posture management tools are reactive and still leave companies open to risk. With Accurics, we could change how cloud infrastructure is secured and minimize the threat surface.

Accurics was established with the thought that detection is not enough. Our mission was to enable cloud cyber resilience with a developer-first approach to security. We aim to self-heal the cloud by programmatically detecting and responding to breach paths throughout the development lifecycle.

Accurics’ foundation was built on strong company values, beliefs, and social responsibility.  Our people-first culture is at the core of who we are and our business goals are structured around that core.  Accurics builds products with our community and customers, for our community and customers, and this is the culture we embrace.

Accurics’ technological innovations set the foundation to make the last few years here incredible.  For instance, we’ve added more than 100,000 developers to the Accurics-Terrascan community with more than 200,000 downloads. Accurics started with 10 engineers less than a year ago; today, we have more than 60 employees and partners, and we’ve added more than 2.4k stars for our Terrascan repository this year alone.

We have global outreach with the  Fortune 500 companies in the world using our product and a superb retention rate.

We have been fortunate to have amazing, passionate customers who gave us invaluable feedback and helped guide our product’s direction. We developed our product  with the belief that if we built and delivered what customers want, we’d build a healthy business.

We believe that with Tenable’s market-leading solutions and global reach, we can move faster and make a bigger impact in a way that we would be unable to do on our own or with any other partner.

Accurics will continue to drive its mission of securing cloud infrastructure with more power and with a continued customer-focused approach. It doesn’t change how we work, what we do and what we believe in. More powers to you, our customers and to the combined company.

On a personal note, I love working with each one of you. I am so proud of the company we have built together. This kind of thing doesn’t just happen, it takes hard work and really is something special. I love solving difficult problems, building great products, working with all of you, shipping incredible security products, and I’m excited to keep doing that at Tenable. Over the coming months we will be working with each of you on becoming Tenable  employees. This will be a collaborative process, just as most things are here.

We have developed pioneering security technologies, delivered them to market, and had fun while working on it. I am confident that we have many more accomplishments to celebrate ahead of us.

Finally, a huge shout out to our customers, partners and early adopters who gave us the strength to execute on this mission. We are excited to have them join us on the next leg of the journey.

I also want to thank the Tenable leadership team and their belief in our combined vision. Do read Tenable co-founder and CTO Renaud Deraison’s blog on his thoughts around this acquisition.
